Launching a double-hull passenger high-speed ship using Baudouin engines

October 26 2023, Hong Ha shipbuilding company in collaboration with Bien Son company held a launching ceremony for 02 a double-hull passenger high-speed ship Lightning 68. These are the first 02 passenger ships in 10 units ordered by Bien Son company built at Hong Ha Shipbuilding Company.

The passenger ship Lightning 68 is a double-hull passenger ship whose design was approved by the Vietnam Register with main technical parameters and features including: Maximum length 33.44 m; design length 30.90 m; Maximum width 7.5 m; deck edge width 7.2 m; design width 7.07 m; side height 3 m; Design draft is about 1.3 m; 10 crew members; capacity of 250 passengers; The ship is equipped with 02 Baudouin marine engines 16M33 with a power is 2100 HP each; 02 Weichai generator sets 120 kW ; Maximum speed reaches 33 knots/hour.

The Lightning 68 passenger ship applies advanced technology of propulsion system and interior to ensure speed requirements as well as luxury and modernity, providing a good speed and comfort for the best experience to passengers. The Lightning 68 will be operated in Kien Giang with the routes Rach Gia, Phu Quoc, Lai Son, Nam Du.
